New Business Database

The Library is very pleased to announce that we have acquired one of the world’s leading business research databases.
 
Ebsco Business Source Premier provides the full text of over 2,000 publications in the areas of accounting, marketing, finance, economics, management and more.
 
Highlights include:
 
  • More than 1,000 peer-reviewed journals
  • Harvard Business Review – complete pdf. fulltext from volume1, number 1, 1922 to the present
  • All Academy of Management journals  - complete pdf. fulltext from their first date of publication to the present
  • MarketLine Company Profiles – current reports on thousands of companies from around the world
  • Regional Business News – collection of approximately 100 regional publications from the U.S., Canada and abroad
  • Also includes trade publications, newspapers, industry profiles and country reports
  • Searchable by subject, author, company name, industry, NAICS code and more

The addition of Ebsco Business Source Premier to our existing roster of business databases is all part of the Library’s ongoing effort to insure that Saint Mary’s scholars can access the latest and best academic literature. It should also prove of use to researchers in fields as diverse as psychology, geography, international development studies and political science.

BrowZine  is an app and website that provides quick and user-friendly access to our e-journals (it's like Kindle for your academic interests). Welcome to 2018!

We trust everyone had a happy and restful break. We sure did! Now we're back, refreshed, and ready to dive into 2018. We're hosting the Service Expo January 2nd and 3rd and the Societies and Partners Expo January 9th as part of Winter Welcome 2018. Other events happening on and around campus include a staff/student dodgeball game, an IKEA shopping trip, and movie and trivia night. Check it out here . Doug Vaisey Retiring

After 39 years of wonderful public service, Doug Vaisey will be retiring as head of the Library’s Reference Department next week.  Doug joined Saint Mary’s shortly after graduating from Dalhousie’s Library School.  It wasn’t long before he was helping plan the move to the newly constructed Patrick Power Library.  As the library grew, so did the Reference Department.  Under Doug’s leadership, it quickly developed its reputation for unparalleled reference service and dedication to the Saint Mary’s research community, a reputation it maintains to this day.  Doug didn’t just preach the importance of great service, he served as its model, whether helping a struggling student with their first paper or a graduate student with the most challenging research needs.
