African Nova Scotian Soldiers Recognized

To help mark Remembrance Day, the Library is pleased to be hosting a very special display.

Parks Canada has put together an exhibit to acknowledge the contributions of African Nova Scotian soldiers who served, with distinction, in World War One.

The various panels highlight the exploits of local men such as George Downey, Joseph Parris, Jeremiah Jones and William White.

It’s part of a larger Parks Canada initiative called Hometown Heroes, intended to commemorate those who made important contributions to the country`s efforts during the two world wars.

Drop by any time to view the display, located on the Library’s first floor.
